Trinity in the Community (T’nC) believes that Trinity Church, which draws its members from all over Akron and surrounding communities, cannot and must not separate itself from the neighborhood in which it is located. Therefore, we follow literally the advice of James in Chapter 2, verse 17 where he says: “it isn’t enough just to have faith. You must do good to prove you have it.”

The clothing room is open the last Wednesday of each month except December. We provide clothing for men, women, and children, household items and new blankets, socks and underwear. During 2008, we have been serving 25 to 42 people each month
During the back to school season, we provided over one hundred children with new underewear and socks as well as a packet with school supplies and two outfits of used clothing.
We also provide financial assistance for clients to avoid cut-offs on their utilities. Also Med-Assist refers clients to us for help with prescription medicines

Info Line refers clients to us for food orders, which include an Acme voucher to purchase perishables. In 2006 we provided food boxes to 173 families.
Christmas food boxes containing a ham, canned goods and all food items needed for a dinner were provided for 20 families. Our Trinity Scout Troop collected canned goods for this project. Candy wreaths made by Mary-Martha Circle members were also included. Forty-six children were each given two toys or gifts provided by our Trinity family as well as hats, scarves and mittens knitted by our members and friends.
Contact the church office if you would like to participate in this worthy project. Planning meetings are held monthly.
Please note that these programs are only available to residents of the 44310 zip code.
