“At the Heart of the Community with the Community at its Heart”

Our Vision

Trinity is a congregation of the United Church of Christ, located at the heart of the community with the community at its heart. We affirm that God is Still Speaking. The church exists as the living body of Jesus, to continue Jesus’ work as indicated in the Bible and as inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Trinity UCC Akron Congregation to grow and change over the next decade in the following areas:

Evangelism: We need to reach more people with the Good News of the Gospel by reaching beyond our doors to surrounding communities.

Spiritual Growth: We want to continue being spiritually active through prayer, mutual support & caring, and outreach programs. We will develop our spirituality through Bible Study as well as using contemporary sources.

Community Involvement: We want to open our doors for community gatherings and activities, becoming part of the solution to problems in the North Hill area. We will move beyond the walls of our church, touching lives in the neighborhoods around our facility. We will discover and endeavor to meet the felt needs of our neighbors.

UCC Involvement: We want to become more involved with the programs and initiatives of the UCC on the association, state and national level. We will strive to do our fair share to support the UCC and its programs.

Missions Focus: We support local, national and international mission efforts with our time, our talents and our money.

Development of Ecumenical Relationships: We will improve our communication and interaction with churches of other denominations in our community.

Youth Program: We are committed to developing programs where youth can become active and engaged in fellowship and spiritual growth.

Building Utilization: We will find organizations and programs that can use our church building during the week.

Wedding Location: We plan to increase the use of our church and grounds for weddings.

Revitalization: Like many UCC congregations, it is our overall goal to revitalize and rejuvenate our church, becoming a multicultural, multiracial, open and affirming congregation that provides an extravagant welcome to all, regardless of where they are on life’s journey.
